Vocabulary
Theodore Roosevelt was a progressive reformer in the 1900s that made a difference during the war. During this time Roosevelt created the square deal, this was the belief that needs of workers, business and consumers should be equal. Many nations competed for different parts of land allover the world, this lead to imperialism. Extensions of a nations power over other lands gave certain nations the rights to Africa, Asia and Latin America. Nations such as France, Germany and Great Britain made the sphere of influence this is when outside nations have a special political or economical power. Militarism led to the balance of powers which created alliances in nations with equal strengths. Affairs of other nations became a problem so isolationism was created as a policy to not involve in different nations affairs. In conclusion the Treaty of Versailles ended World War I but was to harsh for the public and after disarming Germany started the heat for World War II.
Original Thought
For World War I people faced challenging but successful times. The square deal gave workers, business and consumers equality this meant that everyone would be treated the same no matter what there job title was. In my opinion the most important part of the World War was the Treaty of Versailles. Treaty ended the World War but made harsher terms than Wilson wanted. In conclusion the world war and reparations to pay the damages were what made the U.S a strong economic power therefore changing everything for the next century.
